Young Singers

Young Singers offers young people between the ages of 6 and 20 an opportunity to experience choral music through the love of singing. The Young Singers consists of four choirs: YoungER Singers, Treble Notes, Director's Choir and Random Notes. Representing over 600 children who have been involved in the program since 1992, the Young Singers are delighted to have the opportunity to perform for audiences of all ages where they can share their joy of music!
YoungER Singers

Offers children between the ages of 6 and 8 the opportunity to sing in a choir and develop their musical abilities. YoungER Singers participate in the annual Young Singer Christmas and spring concerts. Requirements: Only a love of singing with a weekly rehearsal commitment on Wednesdays from 5:45pm to 6:45pm. No experience is necessary. Admission by registration. All are welcome to register for the YoungER Singers program.

Treble Notes

Offers children between the ages of 8 and 14 an opportunity to experience choral music through their love of singing. Children are taught basic choral skills, with focus on vocal production, breathing, diction, initial music reading skills and performance preparation. Treble Notes participate in annual Young Singer Christmas and spring concerts. Requirements: Only a love of singing with a weekly rehearsal commitment on Mondays from 5:45pm to 6:45pm. No experience is necessary. Admission by registration. All are welcome to register for the Treble Notes program.

Director's Choir

Offers young people between the ages of 10 and 16, an advanced level of choral training for treble choir, as they explore varied musical styles and languages ranging from classical to Broadway. The Director's Choir performs in a wide variety of settings, with travel opportunities provided to perform outside the community. Requirements: Musical experience is recommended for this more advanced level of training (private music lessons, ability to read music, choral background etc.), with commitment to weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings, two Saturday mornings each month, and numerous performances throughout the season. Admission by audition and interview.

Random Notes

Offers young people ages 14 to 20 the opportunity to further develop their choral skills as they sing advanced repertoire in a Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass choir. Random Notes perform in various settings throughout the season. Requirements: Previous musical experience is necessary for this advanced ensemble, with commitment to weekly Wednesday evening rehearsal and numerous performances. Admission by audition and interview.
