Anna Lynn Murphy and the history of Young Singers
Anna Lynn is the proud Founder and former Artistic Director of Young Singers. Under her direction for over 30 years, Young Singers evolved into multiple choirs ranging from ages 4 to 20. Amazing choral experiences have enriched the lives of more than 1,000 young musicians.

Renowned as Durham’s Choral Ambassadors, these choirs performed throughout Ontario, Atlantic Canada, British Columbia, and have taken the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. International tours included England, Ireland and China, where they were featured on national television.
Anna Lynn credits the YS success to many talented young people, an incredible list of parent volunteers, and a hard-working and dedicated staff.

While managing Young Singers, Anna Lynn also maintained a private voice studio, provided numerous vocal and choral workshops for singers and choirs of all ages, and frequently adjudicated at music festivals. As an ongoing church musician, she currently continues to serve as Music Director at St. Dunstan of Canterbury Anglican Church in Scarborough.
Anna Lynn’s joy of singing has enriched the choral fabric of her community and promoted “Excellence in Life through excellence in music!”
