Mark, a Scarborough, ON native, began piano and voice lessons at a local music school at the age of seven. He pursued a degree in Music Education from the University of Toronto, majoring in Piano with a focus on Choral Conducting, studying under Dr. Doreen Rao and Zimfira Poloz. Since then, Mark has held several conducting positions with church and community choirs across the GTA. He is excited to share his love of choral music and music education with the Young Singers family, believing that choral music is a powerful vessel for promoting diversity and inclusion, while also providing children a safe space to develop lifelong skills.

Alicia Gauvreau, is an Ajax-based music educator and also a Young Singers alumni. Alicia earned an Honours Bachelor of Music from Laurier University, where she performed with the Laurier Singers in major productions like Benjamin Britten's War Requiem. During her undergraduate studies, she also trained at the Conservatoire de Lyon, performing in Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and at the Bach Festival in Leipzig, Germany. Alicia holds a Master of Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto where in 2020, won a conducting internship with Young Voices Toronto, which she continued throughout the pandemic. Alicia is thrilled to join Young Singers as a Director, eager to share her love for music and help young singers develop essential life skills. She believes that music education requires a comprehensive approach that supports singers' well-being and sense of community.

Lori LaFrance is a primary music educator at the Durham District School Board, bringing extensive experience and dedication to her role. With a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto, Lori has conducted adult and children’s choirs since 1993. As a Registered Early Childhood Educator and member of the Early Childhood Music Association, she prioritizes play-based learning, integrating music and movement to foster a love for music from an early age. Married for over 30 years and a mother of five children, all alumni of the Young Singers program, Lori's holistic approach blends academic expertise with practical experience, enriching the educational journey of her students.

Jennette Lobban is armed with a degree in Music from Western University, where she honed her understanding of music theory, performance, and composition. Building upon this foundation, Jennette pursued a post-graduate degree in Arts Management, where she gained invaluable insights into the business side of the arts world. Drawing from her own journey as a parent raising musically inclined children, Jennette is committed to providing opportunities for young singers to explore their talents and develop their skills in a supportive and inspiring environment.
