Our Ottavi program offers a vibrant, play-based choir experience designed to inspire young children to explore their voices, develop essential musical skills, and cultivate a lifelong love for singing through engaging activities. Participants will discover fundamental musical concepts such as pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and tempo in a supportive environment that encourages healthy vocal development and empowers them to find and confidently use their singing voice. Through interactive games that sharpen their ability to discern musical cues and adapt to changes, children will also hone their active listening skills. Additionally, the program integrates movement and instrument play to enhance both gross and fine motor skills, fostering a well-rounded musical education. Above all, our Ottavi community fosters cooperation, builds confidence, and celebrates individual expression, creating a nurturing space where every child can thrive musically and socially.

  • Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00pm
    Director: Lori LaFrance

Our Minima program provides a nurturing and dynamic environment where children can discover the joy of making music while building a strong foundation in music theory and vocal performance. Our goal is to strike a balance between fostering a love for singing and developing essential musical skills that will prepare children for more advanced musical experiences in the future. In our Minima program, we integrate engaging play-based activities alongside the introduction of fundamental musical concepts and theory. Children will explore topics such as the staff, note values, simple rhythmic patterns, solfege, and rhythm reading, laying a solid groundwork for their musical journey.

  • Tuesdays from 6:45-8:00pm

    Assistant Director: Alicia Gauvreau

Breve offers structured yet engaging choral instruction and music education, serving as a vital stepping stone to the Breve Chamber Choir. At a minimum, singers in Breve must complete "A Young Singers Journey" Book 1 prior to or within their first season. The program introduces foundational elements such as sight-singing and basic music theory, and may provide opportunities for performance outside of regular concerts. Theory education covers reading and writing musical notation, key signatures, time signatures, recognizing and singing intervals, and basic chord structures and harmonies. Breve is also a place where essential vocal training happens. Over time, the Breve program will introduce diverse and moderately challenging repertoire to develop vocal technique and musicality, preparing singers to advance to the Breve Chamber Choir.

Breve Chamber Choir is an extension of Breve, designed for our most advanced singers who are invited to audition by the Director. Singers in this group will have completed "A Young Singers Journey" books 1 and 2 at a minimum to be considered. Additionally, singers must exhibit the ability to sing confidently in harmony and use their head voice effectively. This ensemble offers an elevated level of choral instruction and music education, focusing on advanced techniques and complex repertoire. The program emphasizes refined vocal technique, intricate harmonies, and sophisticated musicality, preparing singers for high-level performances and opportunities beyond regular concerts.
